Who We Are

The Pacific Northwest Ski Education Foundation Board members are elected to serve as the key policymakers.

Board members may serve two, three year terms and are 100% volunteer positions.

The board is comprised of Elected Trustees that represent no less than 50% of the trustees who are current or former directors or officers of the Pacific Northwest Division or coaches, officials, athletes or past and/or present members of Pacific Northwest Division. The other half of the Board consists of Appointed Trustees by the Board of Trustees.

History

 

The Pacific Northwest Division (aka Pacific Northwest Ski Association “PNSA” was founded in 1930. It is the oldest division in the country.

The Pacific Northwest Ski Education Foundation, a 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization, was founded in 1969 by a group of dedicated parents whose children were racing at the FIS level in the Pacific Northwest Division to cover travel costs, entry fees, and the like for alpine ski racers. Much has changed since then, but we remain committed to helping young ski racers chase their dreams.

The PNWSEF is one of the oldest endowments in the country for ski racing dedicated to supporting athletes to compete at the highest level. The PNWSEF has expanded its vision to support competitive Pacific Northwest Division Alpine & Nordic athletes coaches, officials, and clubs in pursuit of skiing excellence.

The PNWSEF raises funds to offer grants and scholarships to PNW Division athletes and related programs in Washington, Oregon and Northern Idaho. The Pacific Northwest Ski Education Foundation operates for the benefit of all division and US Ski and Snowboard members in the PNW serving about 2,500-3,000 junior racers.
